The Aryya Mission Institution

Rev. Yogacharya Shri Panchanan Bhattacharya (Chief Disciple of Rev. Yogiraj Shri Shyamacharan Lahiri ) founded The Aryya Mission Institution in 1886 in Kolkata, India. He was the first person Rev. Yogiraj Shyamacharan Lahiri permitted to initiate others into Kriya Yoga. At present, the Kriya followers of his lineage are maintaining this institution and performing the original Kriya (as given by Rev. Lahiri Babaji).

The word “Aryya” denotes eternal (Sanatana) culture. In ancient times, the Aryyan culture was more evolved than other cultures and consequently pervaded over the whole globe. The Aryyan spiritual practices were characterized by nature worship, soul-worship (Atmakarma) and seeing God in all creatures. Many saints (Rishis) & seers developed this aspect of the Arryan culture which focused on womens education, morality, discipline and universal love. ‘Universal brotherhood’ was the main motto of Aryyans. They treated the whole world as one family. In order to propogate these noble ideals, Rev.Yogiraj christened this organization ‘ The Aryya Mission Institution’.

The original Kriya Yoga literature, written and explained by Rev. Shri Shyamacharan Lahiri in the Bengali language, was first published by The Aryya Mission Institution between 1885 and 1910. Today, our main work is to translate these publications and make them available to all true seekers
